My labor and delivery experience was wonderful. I owe most of my positive experience to Jessie. She was so professional and came prepared for everything for labor and delivery. There is not a thing I would change. - Katlyn 2022
Going into my third birth, I wasn't nervous. I knew how to do this. The other two were very standard so I should be fine right? How naïve I was. After nearly 24 hours of labor and trying everything under the sun, the OB said those dreaded words: ‘You need a c-section.’ Now things were scary. From the beginning all the doctors told me a c-section was a large risk to my health. I might not make it through. This wasn’t like before. This was terrifying. Luckily, this time around I had something I didn’t before – a doula. Jessica Jerrils was that gentle voice in the cloud of panic and fear to let me know everything was going to be okay. She comforted my husband – who was putting on a brave face – as well as my mother – who was a sobbing puddle. Jessica talked me through what was going to happen and what to expect. She kept me level headed and likely saved me from full sedation. And after birth? This is where I know I could not have made it without Jessica. She coached me through the pain, through breastfeeding struggles, through postpartum, through it all! Her care did not end after the hospital stay. She is likely the sole reason I have not had to supplement with formula like I did with my previous two. He excellent advice and care packages made sure I healed and made enough food for my baby. I cannot recommend Jessica Jerrils as a doula enough. She’s an angel on earth who is not only passionate about her profession, but also genuinely cares about you as a person. Do yourself a favor and book her for this pregnancy and all your future ones! -Megan J. 2022
I loved having Jessie in there with me, my little one didn't want to come out, even with pitocin, a whole day on it and nothing, I was getting very discouraged and Jessie helped keep my spirits up and kept giving me new positions or things to try to help get baby low enough that they could break my water. She even stayed the night with me just in case I needed anything or something happened. the next day, after walking around the hospital for hours with me, dancing with me, and doing the sling thing they could finally break my water, then the real fun began. My contractions began quickly and she did counter pressure, which was a God send and I wish I knew about it with my other 2 labors, especially since the only position that worked for me was standing, hanging on my husband, we tried about 12 other positions but they didn't work for me but I loved being able to try them. Before I was only told about 3 and those mainly being sitting ones. She was also very great about making sure I was focused on what I wanted to do, breathing correctly and making the right kind of noises, which also helped minimize the pain and made the labor so much easier than the others as well. I loved having someone there with me, who was with me the entire process, advocated for me with the staff, she made sure I was never alone, kept my spirits up, joked and laughed with me, and cried when my daughter finally made her entrance into this world. This labor was night and day different from my others, I truly wish the others had gone like this one. I will forever be grateful that she was there with me and such a big part of that day. -Hope B. 2022
